Our oncology services
Along with a general oncology unit, our oncology services include a surgical oncology unit with universal beds that allow patients to stay in the same room from post-surgery to discharge. Our unit was specifically designed in Central Texas, uniting recognized medical oncology leadership from Texas Oncology and Texas Transplant Institute, a department of Methodist Hospital.
Outpatient blood cancer center
The Sarah Cannon Blood Cancer Network is a collaborative network of the country's preeminent sites for blood cancer treatment. The individual programs that form the network, such as ours, have long been recognized as national leaders in patient care and outcomes.
Blood and bone marrow transplants
St. David's South Austin is home to the area's only blood and marrow transplant (BMT) program. It provides patients with blood cancers access to comprehensive care and advanced treatments, such as CAR T-cell therapy.
We have an outpatient clinic for adult patients who have blood cancers, such as leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, as well as those who have received or will receive a BMT. Our clinic has an outside entrance so patients do not have to walk through the main hospital while in a compromised state.
Cancer rehabilitation
Cancer treatment can be difficult, causing significant pain, fatigue and distress. To help with these and other symptoms, our rehabilitative therapy specialists are committed to helping patients with cancer function at the highest level. Our goal is to minimize these side effects and encourage cancer survivors to establish and maintain the best quality of life possible.
Oncology rehabilitation is provided by a group of physical therapists who specialize in cancer rehab, lymphedema therapy or pelvic floor rehabilitation. We are able to provide care for adolescent, adult and senior patients.
Schedule an oncology rehab appointment
To get started, talk to your doctor about writing a prescription for physical therapy. Our team needs the prescription prior to scheduling your initial evaluation. You can also drop off your prescription to us and schedule your appointment at that time.
We accept most insurance plans. If you have questions, please call (512) 447-1083.
