Preventive heart care

When it comes to heart attacks, the symptoms a woman experiences may differ from those of a man. For example, a woman may experience chest pain, but it is also likely she will have nausea and vomiting, pain in the jaw or back and shortness of breath. Because of this — and because women are at higher risk of developing heart disease — we offer specialized preventive testing and heart care for women.

In the St. David's HealthCare network, we have two facilities dedicated solely to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac conditions: Heart Hospital of Austin and Heart Hospital of Austin at Round Rock. Here, we offer advanced computed tomography (CT) technology that allows your cardiologist to find blockages and remove them before they can cause significant harm. The earlier heart disease is found, the easier it is to treat.

For more information about this specialized CT scan, call the Heart Hospital of Austin at (512) 407-7283 or the Heart Hospital of Austin at Round Rock at (512) 341-6414, option 1.
