Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute
The Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St. David’s Medical Center is led by internationally recognized cardiac electrophysiologist, Dr. Andrea Natale, and staffed by a team that includes some of the most prominent physicians and researchers in the field. In addition to providing care to patients who suffer from cardiac arrhythmias, the Institute is dedicated to research and serving as a primary educational resource for physicians around the world.
Heart Valve Clinic
The Heart Valve Clinic at Heart Hospital of Austin is dedicated to the advancement and research of valvular therapies. Established in 2012, the Heart Valve Clinic has brought together an adept team of interventional cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons who specialize in the latest transcatheter valve procedures and minimally invasive surgical valve interventions.
Advanced Heart Failure Clinic
The Advanced Heart Failure Clinic at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center is designed to comprehensively treat and manage patients who suffer from congestive heart failure. Our physicians specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and management of the cardiac disorder. The clinic is a collaboration between an interdisciplinary team of physicians who provide care for heart failure patients while hospitalized. The goal of the Advanced Heart Failure Clinic is to improve patient outcomes and reduce hospital readmissions.
Minimally Invasive Heart Surgery
The cardiothoracic surgeons who practice at St. David’s HealthCare offer alternatives to traditional sternotomy access to the heart. Minimally Invasive Heart Surgery offers much smaller and less invasive incisions to access the heart and coronary arteries resulting in smaller scars and often reduced pain with a faster patient recovery time.
Advanced Aortic Disease
St. David’s Heart & Vascular is a leader in the treatment of advanced aortic disease. The vascular surgeons who practice at St. David’s hospitals provide leading-edge treatment options for patients with conditions of the thoracic aorta, including acute and chronic dissections, traumatic injuries of the aorta, thoracic and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms, Marfan syndrome and coarcation of the aorta.
St. David’s HealthCare is the regional leader in cardiac rehabilitation. Many of our hospitals offer programs where patients work with staff in a safe, controlled environment. The level of physical activity is gradually controlled while the body’s response to exercise is monitored. Cardiac rehabilitation can last from six to 18 weeks, depending on an individual’s specific needs.
