For more than 80 years, St. David's Medical Center has provided exceptional, personalized care to patients using state-of-the-art technology. As a result of this, we are recognized as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The ACR awards this designation to facilities who have achieved excellence in mammography, breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), breast ultrasound and stereotactic biopsy.

Women's imaging and diagnostics

We offer a variety of imaging and diagnostic services for women, including:

• Mammograms
• Breast MRIs
• Breast ultrasounds
• Breast biopsies, including stereotactic, 3D stereotactic, 3T MRI-guided and ultrasound-guided biopsies
• Bone density screenings using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA)
• Body fat analyses
• Cyst aspirations
• Genetic risk assessments for breast cancer

Mammography screenings

The Breast Center at St. David’s Medical Center was the first facility in Austin to offer 3D mammography, also known as breast tomosynthesis. Using 3D mammography, specialists are able to view breast tissue in greater detail than ever before, allowing them to detect breast cancer at an earlier stage.

We also offer "Mammo Mixers" for companies that want to help female employees 40 years old and older make time for their annual screenings. With our technology, we are able to see 20 women in a two-hour period. We can accommodate teams at breakfast, during lunch or after work hours.

Where to find us

The Breast Center at St. David's Medical Center offers patients with mobility issues a complimentary valet parking service at the main hospital entrance. There is also reserved, complimentary parking in Garage 1. Walk-ins are welcome.
