Wound care involves medical interventions to heal a wound after injury. Specialized treatment is provided for wounds that are nonhealing or refuse to heal on their own. A vital aspect of treatment includes learning how to properly dress and care for a wound.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) treatment

Wound healing is a complex process that may require specialized intervention. HBOT is a safe, effective method for providing oxygen to heal chronic wounds. This treatment promotes vascular formation, encourages the body's healing cells and inhibits bacterial growth.

How HBOT works

HBOT takes place inside a hyperbaric chamber. This chamber is pressurized with compressed air to a pressure that is two to three times higher than usually exposed to at sea level. This increase in pressure allows oxygen to be delivered to affected wounds as you breathe up to 100 percent oxygen through a treatment hood.

Our assistants and a supervising physician will closely monitor you at all times. A typical treatment takes two hours. Depending on the diagnosis and outcomes, you may receive daily treatment for 20 to 40 days.

Our chambers can comfortably accommodate up to three patients and one attendant. Additionally, our staff is fully qualified and accredited by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology.
