AUSTIN, Texas—St. David’s Medical Center has named Dan Huffine as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective August 6. Huffine replaces Julie Perez, who recently retired. In this role, Huffine will oversee the financial operations of St. David’s Medical Center, which includes the campuses of Heart Hospital of Austin and St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, as well as St. David’s Rehabilitation Hospital.

Huffine, who has more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector of the healthcare industry, most recently served as the chief financial officer of St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, where he was instrumental in helping to secure funding for the bone marrow transplant program, the $58-million facility expansion currently underway and the future freestanding emergency center in Buda. Prior to joining St. David's South Austin Medical Center, he spent six years as controller for the HCA Central and West Texas Division.
Huffine earned a Bachelor of Science in Business and Accounting from Montana State University in Bozeman, as well as a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. He is also a certified public accountant and a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
