St. David’s HealthCare recently became the official healthcare partner of Austin FC, the city’s first major league sports team. The multi-year agreement makes the Central Texas-based hospital system the first founding corporate partner, healthcare partner and training partner, as well as performance center naming rights partner of Austin’s Major League Soccer (MLS) Club.

“St. David’s HealthCare is thrilled to be Austin FC’s official healthcare partner, providing medical support at all home games, as well as care for players and coaching staff,” David Huffstutler, president and chief executive officer of St. David’s HealthCare, said. “At St. David’s HealthCare, we believe the best is here, and that includes Major League Soccer in Austin.”

As part of the agreement, St. David’s HealthCare will receive naming rights to the team’s training facility and have primary branding on the official training jersey worn by First Team players and staff. Once Austin FC’s stadium opens in March 2021, St. David’s HealthCare will provide healthcare services for stadium guests, as well as health and wellness services for all Austin FC players and coaching staff. St. David’s HealthCare is also sponsoring 10 soccer camps and clinics each year during the agreement.

On Monday, July 15, St. David’s HealthCare and Austin FC hosted their first community soccer camp in East Austin, with more than 100 children participating.
