The TOPS study  is a new research study to launch at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, with Dr. Carl Lauryssen as the Principal Investigator.   This study is investigating the Total Posterior Spine System (TOPS) is an artificial joint designed to maintain stability and preserve motion of the spine for patients with debilitating lower leg and back pain caused by slipped vertebrae or narrowing of the spinal canal.   The ongoing pivotal study is seeking to determine the effectiveness of the TOPS implant, compared to standard transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF).  Read more about this exciting study in the Round Rock Patch.
