St. David’s HealthCare is a unique partnership between a hospital management company and two local non-profits—St. David’s Foundation and Georgetown Health Foundation. The proceeds from the operations of the hospitals fund the foundations, which, in turn, invest those dollars back into the community. Since the inception of St. David’s HealthCare in 1996, more than $269 million have been given back to the community to improve the health and healthcare of people in Central Texas.
St. David's Foundation invests in a healthy community through funding, hard work, and initiatives to better care for the underserved and uninsured. As a joint owner of St. David's HealthCare, the Foundation achieves its goals by investing the proceeds from the hospitals back in the Central Texas community. From its beginning in 1924, St. David's HealthCare has now grown to include six hospitals, four surgery centers, and four urgent care clinics reaching from Georgetown to Kyle.
The Georgetown Health Foundation's roots date back to 1924 with the establishment of Georgetown's first community hospital. In 2006, Georgetown HealthCare System partnered with St. David's HealthCare by contributing Georgetown Hospital. Georgetown HealthCare System retains a vested interest and a voice in St. David's HealthCare's management. Through this partnership, the Georgetown HealthCare System has created The Georgetown Health Foundation. In this innovative model, revenues from foundation activities go directly toward helping the people of greater Georgetown.
