St. David's North Austin Medical Center names new chief financial officer.
St. David’s North Austin Medical Center has named Joseph DeLeon as the facility’s new chief financial officer. DeLeon assumed his new role on January 27.
DeLeon has spent the last 20 years working in a variety of financial roles. Most recently, he served as chief financial officer of Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant, where he was responsible for the overall financial operations of the hospital.
“Joseph DeLeon’s extensive experience in healthcare finance, innovative leadership and proven ability to foster collaboration make him an excellent fit for our team,” Jeremy Barclay, CEO of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center said. “I am confident that he will contribute significantly to advancing our mission of providing exceptional care to our community.”
As CFO of Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant, DeLeon was a strong advocate for the nursing team, working closely with the chief nursing officer to invest more than $1 million in capital for key equipment, making improvements in charge enhancements—including reconciliation, coding accuracy, and other improvements—and focusing on building relationships to create a collaborative team culture. Prior to that, he worked with Methodist Children’s Hospital as controller before becoming assistant chief financial officer. He also served as controller for Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant.
DeLeon earned his master’s degree in business administration from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
