St. David's HealthCare facilities recognized nationally for clinical outcomes

St. David's HealthCare is proud to have all of its Austin hospitals recognized for clinical outcome care.

St. David’s HealthCare announced today that all of its Austin hospitals received a Healthgrades 2024 America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award™. This distinction recognizes hospitals for superior performance in providing care for conditions and procedures across multiple specialty services. St. David’s Medical Center (including Heart Hospital of Austin and St. David’s Georgetown Hospital), St. David’s South Austin Medical Center and St. David’s North Austin Medical Center were recognized among the top five percent of the 4,500 hospitals nationwide included in the assessment for clinical excellence, according to Healthgrades.

In addition to this national recognition, Healthgrades measured hospitals across 18 specialty areas to identify the highest-ranking hospitals in 32 eligible states. St. David’s Medical Center was ranked number one in Texas for orthopedic surgery and surgical care. The facility was also recognized as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for cardiac surgery.

St. David’s Medical Center, St. David’s South Austin Medical Center and St. David’s North Austin Medical Center were also recognized among America's 100 Best Hospitals for critical care. Healthgrades identified the 100 Best Hospitals in the nation for 16 of the most common specialty care areas. Recipient hospitals represent the top two percent of hospitals for each specialty. 

Several St. David’s HealthCare facilities received additional recognitions as 2024 Specialty Excellence Award™ recipients. St. David’s Medical Center, St. David’s South Austin Medical Center and St. David’s North Austin Medical Center were named among the top 10 percent in the nation for cardiology services. St. David’s Medical Center was also named among the top five percent in the nation for overall cardiac and vascular services.

Additionally, St. David’s Medical Center, St. David’s South Austin Medical Center and St. David’s North Austin Medical Center were recognized as recipients of the Healthgrades Stroke Care Excellence Award. St. David’s Medical Center and St. David’s South Austin Medical Center were also named among the top five percent in the nation for the treatment of stroke.

St. David’s Medical Center, St. David’s South Austin Medical Center and St. David’s North Austin Medical Center were named among the top 10 percent in the nation for surgical care, with St. David’s Medical Center ranking among the top five percent in the nation for spine surgery.
