About St. David's Institute for Learning
St. David’s Institute for Learning is the comprehensive education resource of St. David’s HealthCare. The Institute offers classroom and online continuing education, nurse fellowships and residencies, and educational opportunities throughout St. David’s HealthCare. Two academies – the Leadership Academy and Academy for Clinical Excellence – provide specific training programs.
Learning is not compulsory... neither is survival.
To accommodate a variety of learning and scheduling needs, St. David's Institute for Learning offers a full range of educational opportunities, including classes, seminars, e-learning, simulation, EDGE Nurse Residency and preceptor programs, self-study modules, fellowships, and strategic partnerships with other educational organizations.
Two curricular tracks provide structure for our class offerings: The Leadership Academy and The Academy for Clinical Excellence. Our Staff Development division provides an avenue for all employees to meet standard requirements such as annual mandatory updates and coordinates with city, state and national organizations to create employment opportunities for healthcare professionals through grants, select scholarships, clinical student placements, clinical development, and community liaison.
