Bringing complex care closer to home in Georgetown

Georgetown is quickly becoming a top place to live in Central Texas, and to meet the needs of the rapidly growing community, St. David’s Georgetown Hospital is bringing more complex care closer to home for Georgetown residents.

Kyle Landry, who was named chief executive officer of St. David’s Georgetown Hospital in April, is leading plans for new additions to the hospital’s cardiovascular and surgical programs. Cardiovascular care will become more specialized, and physicians affiliated with Heart Hospital of Austin will begin practicing at the facility. The hospital will open a new cath lab and cardiovascular imaging center this year.

Earlier this year, the hospital opened a new bronchoscopy suite, added endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) technology. EUS combines endoscopy technology and ultrasound technology to get images of internal organs in the chest and abdomen. EBUS technology helps to diagnose different types of lung disorders. Plans for expanded surgical programs include colorectal and spinal surgery.
