Oakwood Surgery Center is now setting the standard for convenience and healthcare information. Oakwoodsurgerycenter.com is not only a valuable compendium of the surgery center’s services, programs and medical information on various procedures, but it also provides added convenience for patients with the new Online Clinical History service.

Now, patients can save time and reduce the inconvenience of paperwork by submitting their clinical history online. This new service enhances patients’ experiences with Oakwood Surgery Center because Online Clinical History is a fast and easy way for patients to submit their clinical history. Patients now have the choice to provide the center with their clinical history by phone, the traditional method, or online, with the Online Clinical History service.

In addition to being a time saving convenience with the Online Clinical History service, Oakwoodsurgerycenter.com offers site visitors medical information on a variety of topics such as PreOp Surgery, nutrition, online drug guide, men’s health and women’s health. Patients can easily navigate to pre/post surgery instructions, maps and directions to the surgery center, a phone directory, and other useful information related to their condition.

Oakwood Surgery Center is leading the way technologically in Round Rock and the surrounding region,” said Kelly Mullis, RN, Administrator of the center. “As a result, area residents have long turned to us for high quality healthcare. Now our website provides the same quality and expertise in healthcare information online. Services like Online Clinical History are what has earned Oakwood Surgery Center a reputation of excellent care and convenience for our patients.”

Our Services

Our surgeons perform a wide range of major and minor surgical procedures on an ambulatory basis, including these specialties:

Special Care for Pediatric Patients

If your child will be undergoing surgery at the center, our staff will do everything we can to make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible before, during and after the procedure. We know from experience that it helps to show and tell pediatric patients and their parents what they can expect the day of surgery. If appropriate, you can call us prior to the scheduled surgery date to arrange a personal tour and meet some of the staff. A nurse from the center will call you at least one day before your child's surgery to go over instructions, including the preoperative guidelines and the day of surgery checklist. If you can't be reached by phone, please be sure to call the center no later than the day before surgery.

On the day of surgery, it is a good idea to bring your child's favorite stuffed animal, blanket, toy or other item from home so he or she will be more at ease. You'll have an opportunity to talk with your child's anesthesiologist, and just before the procedure we'll help get your child dressed into pajamas and slippers. Although we never leave our young patients alone, we prefer that you stay with your child at all times, right up until the time your child is taken to the operating room. Shortly after surgery, parents are reunited with their child, so one of the first faces your child sees will be yours.
