St. David’s Georgetown Hospital Announces $1.9 Million in Funding for Helipad and Parking

St. David's HealthCare November 10, 2016

GEORGETOWN, Texas—St. David’s Georgetown Hospital announced today a $1.9-million capital investment for the construction of a helipad and 81 additional parking spaces.

A new helipad will save time and resources in transporting critical patients to and from St. David’s Georgetown Hospital. Additional parking spaces are necessary to meet the growth in volume of patients and employees. These projects are expected to be complete in early 2017.

“We have patients from all over the state transported via air ambulance to St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, and a new helipad will allow us to better serve these critically ill or injured patients,” Hugh Brown, chief executive officer of St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, said.

The helipad and additional parking are among the latest capital investments for St. David’s Georgetown Hospital. Currently, renovations to the emergency department are underway, including five additional treatment spaces. This project is also expected to be complete in early 2017.

Last month, St. David’s Georgetown Hospital completed the construction of a new driveway and signs along I-35 to provide improved, more visible access to the hospital for emergency vehicles, patients and employees. In May, St. David’s Georgetown opened a newly expanded intensive care unit—a $7.7 million capital investment—to address a significant increase in critical care patients.
